I am in New York City, but only for the weekend. On Monday I fly to Europe where I will spend the spring and summer. Here is a map of New York courtesy of Google Maps.

Whenever I visit New York City I always stay in midtown Manhattan because it is the centre of the universe and there are lots of things to do there. Whatever you are interested in you can find somewhere in Manhattan.
A great thing about New York City is the cheap food you can buy right on the street. Hot dogs from a corner vendor are two dollars. A slice of New York pizza is also two dollars. Then there are potato knishes and don’t forget pretzels.
One place I always eat at is the Stage Door Deli which is on Eighth Avenue right across from Madison Square Garden. I always look for a waitress there who is from Kazakhstan. There is another girl from Uzbekistan who works behind the register. They look like they would make good models.
The best thing about New York City for photographers is that no matter where you aim your camera, you get something interesting. The sidewalks are filled with people and the streets filled with yellow taxis. There is steam coming up out of every other manhole cover. Beautiful architecture can be found everywhere in old buildings like the New York Public Library with the lions out front and skyscrapers like the Empire State Building towering above the street. Then there are the lights of Times Square. It just goes on and on. I mostly use the streets of New York as the backdrop for shooting fashion models. No wonder this place is a mecca for fashion designers, photographers, models, publishers and many other creative people.
