Arrived in Prague, Czech Republic

Just arrived in the beautiful old city of Prague in the Czech Republic. I will be spending a couple of months here in the spring before starting the Summer 2008 Model Search Tour. Here is a satellite image of Prague from Google maps.

I arrive by Czech Air on a flight from Dublin, Ireland. I couldn’t get a direct flight from New York, so I flew American Airlines to Dublin and then Czech Air to Prague. The AA flight was very cramped–the seats are too close together. The Czech Air flight had much more legroom.

Prague is a lovely old city and provides numerous interesting backgrounds for photography. There are also many pretty Czech girls that make excellent models. The modeling industry is fairly well developed here in Prague with numerous model and talent agencies catering to photographers from London, Milano, Paris and other major western European capitals.

In Prague, it is very easy to hire a beautiful model–just pick up the phone and call an agency. However, if you are looking for fresh faces like I am it is more challenging. I have to get out there and beat the bushes to find new talent. Sometimes I run an ad in the newspaper, and sometimes I just find girls on the street, on the tramvaj or in the park. Then I have them come in for a test shoot.
