The Sartorialist

Girl with white shorts and lime green top on the street in Lviv, Ukraine

Street fashion photographer and blogger Scott Shuman photographs people on the street in New York, Milan and Paris. Before becoming a fashion photographer, the 41-year-old Shuman spent 15 years in fashion marketing and branding. After 9/11 he closed down his showroom to focus on photography. He would up starting his blog The Sartorialist in 2005.

Shuman shoots people on the street the way fashion designers looked at people. “Rarely do they look at the whole outfit as a yes or no but they try and look for the abstract concepts of color, proportion, pattern mixing or mixed genres,” he writes in his biography.

His blog is a great place for trend spotting and has a large influence on fashion styles. He got a big write-up in Forbes magazine in an article titled Geek Chic.
