Aljona is a model that I work with regularly when I visit Prague. So on Friday afternoon we went out and shot some photos around the State Opera House and also around old town Prague. The picture at the left shows Aljona riding the tram when we were coming back to the studio. A bunch of girls dressed up as trees with pink flowers for the May Day festival got on board. What a hoot!
In April I was shooting everyday in the morning and this worked out pretty well. But now that it is May and the days are getting longer, sunrise is too early. On April 1, sunrise was 6:39 AM. But on May 1, sunrise was at 5:39 AM, one hour earlier. I don’t know if anyone wants to get up that early for a photoshoot. So now I will be mostly shooting late in the afternoon. Today sunset today is 8:24 PM. On Friday we had pretty nice light at between 5:45 and 6:45 PM. The only problem is that there are huge crowds of tourists out in the afternoon.
As we get closer to summer, the sun gets higher up in the sky so the light is not as good for photography. I usually won’t shoot as much in the summertime because the light is too contrasty.
