On the right-hand sidebar, just below the blogroll links, we added an Alexa traffic rank widget. According to Alexa, for the last three months lagunabachbikini.com is the 8,082,109 ranked site measured by traffic. We are right behind Luigi’s Sub & Pizza and just beat out Empire State Hat Blocking.
But for the last month we are number 4,637,420. We zoomed past about 3 million other websites this month. Maybe someday we’ll make the top million.
The way Alex works is users add the Alexa Toolbar to their browser which collects data on their browsing behavior. Data is transmitted to Alexa where it gets stored and analyzed. Then Alexa reports on web traffic and give each website a traffic rank. Because the user must install the software tracking toolbar, Alexa can sample only some of the total online population.
