I am in South America for the fall season. Right now I’m in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Just walking around the town with my camera taking snaps. I came across this display in the Plaza de Maya in front of the Casa Rosada which is the Presidential Palace.
Madres de Plaza de Mayo
The Madres de Plaza de Mayo, who are mothers of the “disappeared” from Argentina’s dirty wear in the 1980s, march every week in Plaza de Mayo in front of the Casa Rosada, or Pink Palace. They put up these crosses to remember their missing children.
Exposure Details
I shot this picture sometime around 14h or 15h in the afternoon. That is 2pm or 3pm for North Americans. it was bright, direct sunlight with no clouds–Sunny 16. My Minolta Autometer IV lightmeter was showing f/16.7 @ 1/ISO.
The camera was a Nikon D700 with a Nikkor 24-120 f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens. I had the camera set on full auto: Auto ISO, Auto WB, Programmed Auto-Exposure (matrix metering), Auto-Focus. So the camera made all the exposure decisions. Here are the details: focal length=55mm, ISO=200, WB=5290, f/10 @ 1/400.
RAW Developer 1.8.5 on a PowerBook G4 using the Camera Default (D700) Settings and RDv182 Nikon D700 Normal Input Profile. And, of course, no editing or adjustments whatsoever–As-Shot.
