What do you get when you put together a girl, a beach and a bikini? How about 20-year-old Alenka from Kiev. She spent a sunny afternoon at this sandy beach along the Dnipro River in Kiev. She wore a green one-piece swimsuit for the occasion.

The Beach Boys had lots of songs about girls, beaches and bikinis. The quintessential California surf group of the 1960s, known for their close vocal harmonies, was originally from the town of Hawthorne in southern California. The band consisted of three brothers, Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and family friend Al Jardine. Here is a live version of one of their 1962 hits Barbara Anne.
