Here is a great free program for Nikon Shooters. ViewNX from Nikon is a browser for Nikon NEF format files, which is Nikon’s RAW camera format. The program is basically a viewer, but it can do many things like correct exposure and color balance. But the most important is converting NEF/RAW files into TIFF or JPEG.
The best thing about ViewNX is that, unlike most third party RAW converters, it understands all the picture modes and everything about your Nikon camera. The result is that you get the very best possible RAW conversions. Even better than the JPEG that comes out of the camera.
