Helado in Argentina
Of course, the big attraction in Argentina is the beef. But in Argentina you will also find some of the best ice cream in the world in Buenos Aires.
The word for ice cream is helado, kind of similar to the Italian word Gelato. It has the same Italian roots has gelato but it is made from the local cream from Argentin’s famous cows.
Do you see a theme that anything that come from cows is best in Argentina?

Cadore Heladeria is has a store on Avenida Corrientes which is right in the center of the theatre district. What a great treat after dinner and a show!

Helado shops in Buenos are clean and well lit, usually with a long service counter. There are many flavors to choose from. Usually you place you order and pay for it, then give the ticket to the counter person to scoop out your ice cream.

The helado always seems to be at the optimum temperature for eating–not too cold, just starting to melt when you get it. They give you two huge scoops on a cone for 12 pesos.

Since I like to keep it simple, we ordered vanilla and chocolate. I think that good ice cream should be good with just a simple vanilla flavor. On other occasions I tried some of the other flavors. They were all excellent.
