“All Aboard! Next stop San Diego!”
The Amtrak locomotive is sitting in San Diego’s Santa Fe station which is the main railway station. It is located right downtown in beautiful sunny San Diego. I had just stepped off the train with all my bags and saw this incredible sight of the powerful Amtrak locomotive with a huge cruise ship in the background.
I had spent about three weeks in the Newport Beach area of Orange County, California. I took a bunch of travel and fashion fotos. Then it was off to San Diego via the Amtrak Surfliner.
Amtrak Surfliner
This is one of the most scenic railroad routes in the the country. It travels along the coast and there are many views of the ocean. You can see surfers catching waves all along the coast from San Clemente to Oceanside to Solana Beach to La Jolla. This is starting to sound like a Beach Boys song.
The trip only took about two hours. The price of an unreserved seat was $21. For another $12 you can get a reserved seat in business class.
