Perfect weather year round, Blue skies, blue Pacific water–what more could you ask for? San Diego is one of the nicest cities in America to live. Or to visit.

San Diego is home to the San Diego Padres baseball team, the San Diego Chargers American football team and the United States Navy. The downtown centre, called the Gaslamp District, has been revitalized with all kinds of restaurants and entertainment venues. The city has good public transportation–buses and the San Diego Electric Trolleys. Tijuana, Mexico is just a short trolley ride away. Old downtown warehouse buildings have been transformed into modern live/work lofts. This is a vibrant and active city with lots to see and do. Did I mention the world-class San Diego Zoo?

The tourist season is in the summertime, but the best time to visit is the off season from November to March. The are fewer crowds and you will get better deals at hotels, car rental, restaurants and everything. As a tourist, you can easily spend two weeks or a month here and not run out of new things to do.

I be writing some more columns about some of the sights and scenery in San Diego. Plus I’ll tell you where to stay, where to eat and how to get around.
