Formerly Houston Intercontinental Airport, the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (airport code: IAH) is a large, modern efficient airport in one of America’s largest cities. It is the second largest airport in Texas after Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and the 17th busiest in the world. I would say 43 million passengers each year is pretty busy.

Where are all those people going? Well, Houston is a hub city for Continental Airlines with routes to destinations all over the United States and the world. I snapped the picture above when I was in Houston to catch a flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina on Continental. I was traveling in early October, 2009. The weather in Houston was hot that day.

I had other choices for flights to Buenos Aires. LAN, Chile’s national airline flies from Miami. So does Aerolineas Argentinas which is Argentina’s national carrier. Aerolineas Argentina does not have a great reputation for service. American Airlines flies out of JFK in New York and both AA and Delta fly from Dallas-Ft. Worth.
