High-School Cheerleader Fired for Posing for Playboy
Carlie Beck was fired from her job as cheerleader coach at Casa Roble High School in Orangeville, California after her nude pictures were published in Playboy magazine. She appeared in Playboy under the name Carlie Christine as Playboy’s Cyber Girl of the Week in February 2009.
Ms. Beck was the apparent victim of vengeful parents when some girls didn’t make the cheerleading squad because of unexcused absences from schools. The parents made copies of the nude pictures of 20-year-old Carlie and dropped them onto the principals desk, demanding that she be fired. Ms. Beck’s pictures appear to be very tasteful, as would be expected from Playboy magazine. Numerous celebrities and movie stars have appeared nude in Playboy. This story raises serious constitutional questions about individual’s rights to privacy in America.
