Alena, is a famous magazine cover model. She has been in the pages of numerous magazines. Alena is from the Czech Republic in central Europe and was visiting the United States for a few weeks. She spent some of her time with us here in Laguna Beach, California. Alena loves to take walks on the beach.
Production Notes
The location is right on the beach down by the waves in Laguna Beach. Probably around St Anne’s Street. I lived right near the beach at that time and shot fashion and bikini models there nearly every day all along the beach. Many pretty girls want to be models and are dying to get onto a bikini calendar or poster, or into a bikini magazine.
This picture was shot late in the afternoon in early January. Probably around 4PM in the afternoon. Lighting was just the natural sunlight and skylight.
My guess is the exposure was f/11 @ 1/125 using ISO 100 daylight Fujichrome film. I always used a Minolta Autometer IV handheld exposure meter to set the exposure. My camera was a Nikon FM2 with a Nikkor 105MM Macro lens.
Post Production
Film processing by Irvine Photo Graphics in Irvine, California. The original 35mm slide was scanned onto PhotoCD by Pacific Color in Seattle, Washington on 2/19/1997. So that was back in 1997. Everything has been carefully stored away in our vast media vault since then.
The PhotoCD Image file was recently converted to JPEG using Adobe Photoshop CS2. No adjustments made–just batch converted using Adobe Bridge CS2. The only thing added was the watermark logo and the image was re-sized for the web.
