Why ISO Is The New Megapixel

Here is a super article from Gizmodo.com explaining why digital camera sensors with larger image sites have better low light performance, meaning they can operate at higher ISO’s without excessive noise.

The gist of it is that a 10 or 12 megapixel sensor is sufficient for most applications. So the new thrust is for better low-light sensitivity, or higher ISOs with less noise.
