Popular Science Magazine Archives

The American monthly magazine Popular Science has been publishing articles about science and technology for the general reader since 1872. That must be one astounding collection of articles. You could trace the history of technology from the early days sound recording and photography, through the invention of the automobile, human flight, all the way through the space age, landing a man on the moon, and then the computer and internet revolution.

Wouldn’t it be great to have that collection on your bookshelf?

Well now you have it. The entire archive, every issue of Popular Science, is now available, for free, on the internet.

Here is what the publishers have to say:

We’ve partnered with Google to offer our entire 137-year archive for free browsing. Each issue appears just as it did at its original time of publication, complete with period advertisements. It’s an amazing resource that beautifully encapsulates our ongoing fascination with the future, and science and technology’s incredible potential to improve our lives. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

This is an amazing resource to have available.
