The best way to travel Europe is by rail. It is fast and efficient, and the electric trains are the least wasteful of fossil fuels. So when we had to get from Amsterdam to Hamburg, naturally we opted go by train.

Both the Netherlands and Germany have a excellent modern railway systems. Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) is the Dutch Railway and the German National Railway is Deutche Bahn (DB). To get from Holland to Hamburg, we had to change from an NS train to a Deutche Bahn train at Osnabruck.

When we arrived in Hamburg, we found a large and modern station facility. We purchased a ticket for the metro and then rode the metro to our accommodation.
