Independence Square is the main square in Kiev, Ukraine. Back in 2004, hundreds of thousands gathered in Independence Square in support of democracy.
The main street leading into Independence Square is Kreshchatik Street. Kreshchatik runs from Independence Square to Bessarabsky Rynok. Rynok means market in Ukrainian, and the market has lots of fresh produce.
Along Kreshchatik, there a lots stores with the latest fashions where the Ukrainian women love to shop. A big department store called ZUM is just a few blocks down the street from Independence Square.
