Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those kicks were fast as lighting
In fact it was a little bit frightening
But they fought with expert timing

Today’s youtube is Kung Fu Fighting. This was a hit for one-hit wonder Carl Douglas back in 1974. The song was produced during the kung fu movie craze of the early 1970s, after martial artist and actor Bruce Lee had popularized kung fu in movies like Enter The Dragon.
Here is performance by Carl Douglas on a television show.
Carl Douglas appeared on many television shows including this crazy one from the Netherlands–Dutch absurdity show Discohoek from Wim T. Schippers. Sjef van Oekel (translated Van Doofus), welcomes them in Chinese, which Carl doesn’t understand.
Here is a recent music video Kung Fu Fighting including Kung Fu Panda and Jack Black. They added a lot more verses to the song. This song is still great!

They were funky China men, from funky Chinatown
They were chopping them up and they were chopping them down
It’s an ancient chinese art and every body knew their part
From a feint into a slip and a kicking from the hip
CHORUS
There was funky Billy Chin and little Sammy Chong
He said, here comes the big boss (Where?) lets get it on
We took a bow and made a stand, started swaying with the hands
Sudden motion made me skip, now we’re into a brand new trip
CHORUS
{INTRO, CHORUS}
Oh-oh-oh-ohhh
Kung-fu fighting, had to be fast as lighting
Oh-oh-oh-ohhh (to fade)
