It’s just a short hop from Prague to Dresden, a little over 2 hours by rail. So I bought a ticket at Prague’s Hlavni Nadrazi and got on a morning train to Dresden.

I think that winter should be about over by now. So I ditched my thick wool sweater, heavy winter coat, winter hat and wool gloves in Prague. Hopefully the cold weather does not return because I won’t be prepared for it.

Here’s a google map of the route from Prague to Dresden

The train follows the Labe river in Czech Republic to Usti nad Labem. In Germany, the name of the river changes to the Elba. The train follows the Elba over, through the scenic region called Saxon Switzerland, and to Dresden. There’s a lot of hiking a climbing in Saxon Switzerland.
