Super Sunday and Super Cheerleaders
Today is Super Bowl Sunday. The Super Bowl is about football, and football is about cheerleaders! Pro cheerleading began back in the 1970’s with the introduction of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders who brought jazz dance to the sidelines. Because of television they ended up being wildly successful. Now there are The Laker Girls, Raiderettes, Rockets Power Dancers and dozens more. Today most NFL, AFL, and NBA teams have a cheerleader or dance squad.
Cheerleaders is fun in high school and exciting in college cheerleading, but pro cheerleaders are the top dogs in cheerleading. Cheerleading is a great opportunity to get out and be seen while representing a team. It is a part of sports entertainment and a great way to advance your dancing and performance careers. Cheerleading provides television exposure and a chance to network with A-list celebrities and other movers and shakers of the world. In fact, cheerleaders become hot properties and celebrities in their own right making personal appearances complete with photo ops and autograph signings. Many cheerleaders also show their patriotism by entertaining enthusiastic troops overseas.
The Pro Cheerleader Blog is all about professional cheerleading and sports dance teams. Bloggers James and Sasha provide tons of information about pro cheerleading. They list the dates and times for tryouts for all the big teams. For instance you can find out that the Houston Dynamo Girls are holding tryouts on February 16th and that the Philadelphia Eagles are holding a pre-audition workshop on February 26th. It is worth checking out.
