Today’s film clip is from the 1987 movie The Last Emporer from director Bernardo Bertolucci. The movie told the story of Pu Yi, the last of the Emperors of China. Starting from a noble birth, his reign as emperor in the Forbidden City, imprisonment by the Communists after the war and finally his obscure life as a peasant worker in Communist China. Joan Chen plays the part of Wan Jung, who was selected to be his Empress.
